I began making jewelry as a child when my parents gave me my first rock tumbler. As the child of two rock hounds, I have always loved stones. I find their colors and striations totally fascinating. As a self-taught artist, I love to create and use new and unusual techniques in crafting my jewelry so each piece tells a story. I am constantly I searching out unique, sometimes rare, beautiful stones and beads for my one-of-a kind creations.
The colors, textures, and shapes displayed in the world surrounding us are the inspiration for my creations. In my constant quest for new designs, my unique, elegant jewelry pieces cover a wide variety of styles and techniques. Some of these are custom designed and hand-crafted pieces that include (1) unusual resin “paintings” crafted with sterling silver bezel, chain and bail. They are filled with a base layer of micro glass beads and unique sterling and/or organic items encased in seven separate layers of resin. (2) semi precious stone necklaces, earrings and bracelets are wire connected or bezel set. Each piece is made to be different. (3) Woven seed bead pieces are crafted from semi-precious beads and glass or metal seed beads. Finished items are wire reinforced for lasting stability. Some have matching stone pendants. (4) Kiln fired PMC (precious metal clay) pieces are hand formed. I create my own molds and patterns to make each piece stand out. (5) All metals and findings used are sterling silver, argentium silver, pure silver, gold filled, or copper.
